New Permits Website

Effective 10/3/2022, the Travis County Fire Marshal’s Office has moved all plan submittals, permitting, inspection requests, and ITM submittals into the new TCFMO Permits Website.

Paper plans are no longer accepted. All submittals must now be done using this new online system.

Fire Marshal

The Fire Marshal's Office, a division of Travis County Emergency Services, is responsible for fire investigations, fire inspections, and fire code enforcement within the unincorporated areas of Travis County. Inspections, education, and burn bans target fire prevention. Our office also assists in fire investigations, responds to citizens reports, and works with local ESDs (Emergency Services Districts/Fire Departments).

The Fire Marshal's Office is a law enforcement agency; all "Marshals" are Certified Fire/Arson Investigators, Certified Fire Inspectors and Licensed Peace Officers.

TAX RATE: TRAVIS COUNTY ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR’S TAX RATE. THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 3.5 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $10.39.
