Community Development Block Grant

The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program funds housing, infrastructure and social services projects for residents with low and moderate income that live within the Travis County CDBG Service Area, which varies by program year. For the current CDBG Program Year (PY21), this service area includes all of San Leanna, Webberville, Creedmoor, Lago Vista, West Lake Hills, and Bee Cave, along with all of the unincorporated areas of Travis County. Residents and non-profit agencies can help determine funding priorities by providing ideas for projects and information about community needs. The service area for ongoing projects funded in prior program years and future projects may vary from the above.

More about CDBG

CDBG funding comes from the U.S. Department of Housing and Community Development. The program provides annual grants on a formula basis to entitled cities and counties to develop viable urban communities by providing decent housing and a suitable living environment, and by expanding economic opportunities, principally for low- and moderate-income persons. Travis County CDBG Service Area Map

The Travis County CDBG Service Area includes all of unincorporated Travis County* and several other jurisdictions, which vary between program years, as follows:

• For projects receiving PY19 funding (including all CDBG-CV projects): All of unincorporated Travis County and all (incorporated and unincorporated) areas of San Leanna and Webberville.
• For projects receiving PY20 funding: All of unincorporated Travis County and all (incorporated and unincorporated) areas of Creedmoor, Lago Vista, San Leanna, Webberville, and West Lake Hills.
• For projects receiving PY21 & PY22 funding: All of unincorporated Travis County and all (incorporated and unincorporated) areas of Bee Cave, Creedmoor, Lago Vista, San Leanna, Webberville, and West
  Lake Hills.

*The unincorporated areas may change at any time due to annexation or de-annexation.

Invitation to comment on Draft Substantial Amendments to the Travis County CDBG PY16, PY17, and PY18 Action Plans

Travis County CDBG invites you to comment on the proposed PY16-18 Action Plan Substantial Amendments. The invitation is available in English and Spanish (Español). Comments will be accepted for 30 days beginning January 11, 2023, at 8:00 a.m. and ending on February 9, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. or by participating in a public hearing on January 24, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. A draft of the proposed PY16-18 Action Plan Substantial Amendments along with related summaries are available for download below

The Travis County Commissioners Court approved the substantial amendments to the PY19-23 ConPlan and PY19 Action Plan and the documents are available for download below under “Documents”.

Travis County Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) PY2023 Community Needs Survey is now available.

This survey allows residents to tell us about community needs in San Leanna, Webberville, Creedmoor, Lago Vista, West Lake Hills, Bee Cave, and the unincorporated areas of Travis County that impact low- and moderate-income families, persons with disabilities, seniors, and youth. Your input will be used to help develop Travis County’s annual action plans for the approximately $1.2 million in annual CDBG funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). It will also help inform other Travis County departments about needs in these areas of the county.

The survey is available online in English and Spanish (Español). In addition, copies will be available at the Travis County Community Centers or by requesting one be mailed to you.
