 Weddings may be scheduled for in person, online Zoom, or signature only ceremonies.  Please contact our court for assistance with scheduling your wedding date. 

  • Payment can be made with exact cash, cashier’s check, or via VENMO.
  • Guests and children are welcome.
  • Couples do not have to wear masks in their ceremony or while in the courtroom.  Masks will be required for guests in the courthouse for weekday weddings. 
  • Weddings may be scheduled for any day of the week, but require 48 hours notice. Separate rates apply for off-site wedding locations.

Couples can select a standard ceremony (see below) or provide their own ceremony and vows to the judge in advance.  Judge Holmes is happy to update with your pronouns and titles!

  • Couples must obtain a wedding license that is 72 hours old, but no older than 90 days of the scheduled appointment. To obtain a marriage license, you may contact the Travis County Clerk’s office at 512-854-9188 or by visiting their website. Their offices are located at 5501 Airport Blvd. in Austin, Texas (Map).
  • Weddings are scheduled by appointment, however walk-ins are welcomed so long as the Judge's schedule permits. Please call the Court first to verify the Judge is available.
  • Judge Holmes is also available in the evening and on weekends.

TAX RATE: TRAVIS COUNTY ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR’S TAX RATE. THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 3.5 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $9.12.
